Trump’s luxury vacation costs spiral out of control, strain taxpayers and national security

This is the best tl;dr I could make, original reduced by 45%. (I'm a bot)

Capping off a week of humiliating defeats and stinging rebukes, Donald Trump is preparing for a month-long vacation after tiring himself out with six months of no accomplishments, a lot of golfing, and regular Twitter rants.

Despite Trump's repeated attacks on former President Barack Obama's far less frequent golf outings, Trump was already on track to "Outpace Obama's entire 8-year travel budget by the end of 2017.".

New documents show that Trump's seven trips – thus far – to his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida have run up a tab for the Coast Guard of $6.6 million.

Trump himself is raking in profits: "Trump gave up day-to-day management of Mar-a-Lago but still owns the private club, which took in $37.2 million in resort-related revenue between January 2016 and April 2017, financial disclosures show."

In a notable contrast, while Trump insisted that his callous and sudden decision to ban transgender Americans from serving in the military was in part due to the supposed "Tremendous medical costs" of health care for transgender troops, the military is on pace to spend more money protecting Trump's unending taxpayer-sponsored vacations than on "Transition-related health care for transgender service members."

Throughout the campaign, Trump heaped praise upon himself for his own greediness: "My whole life I've been greedy, greedy, greedy. I've grabbed all the money I could get. I'm so greedy."
